Assessment and reporting

Providing you with information about your child's progress and attainment is very important to us. We do this in a number of different ways:
  • You will receive a termly update on their progress with targets and current levels or grades along with an effort grade
  • You will have an opportunity to come and meet teachers and discuss progress at least once per year
  • You will have an opportunity to meet your child's tutor once a year and have a tutor review meeting
  • You will have a written comment about the progress of your child at the end of the academic year

The dates for the current academic year assessment cycle is shown below:

  • Year 7 and Year 8: October, January, April and July
  • Year 9 and Year 10: November, March and July
  • Year 11: October, January and March
  • Year 12 and 13: October, November, January and March
You can download a summary document of our assessment and reporting processes below. This provides an outline of the different assessment systems used in school and what they mean. In addition, you can download a document that is for Year 7 parents only, which outlines the new banding system for assessment in Year 7 and 8 which was introduced in September 2016 and which will run into Year 8 in 2017-2018.
